What is your passion?
Good, genuine, and honest conversations in all their forms and situations: starting the day with a good coffee, walking through the countryside or the beach, surrounded by friends with a meal and good wine, reviewing the day with my children during dinner, and listening to the aspirations, dreams, and challenges of great professionals who work hard every day to achieve their goals… as long as I don’t have to look at the clock too much…
Why are you in coaching?
I enjoy working on innovative projects with large and small companies that promote growth and entrepreneurship, and that requires cohesive, passionate teams that are limitless in giving their best. Executive and team coaching is one of the most effective tools for driving the transformation of individuals and organizations.
How did you come to coaching?
I started practicing almost without realizing it during my previous experience as a corporate manager, a stage in which I enjoyed dedicating time to development conversations with team members. In a 360 evaluation, one of them wrote: “Mónica, you should explore your potential as a coach”… and shortly after, someone recommended the Escuela Europea de Coaching to me… I will always be grateful to these two people.
Define yourself in one sentence
In recent years, this phrase has inspired me a lot: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but maintaining a firm step,” and that’s where we are…
What is your favourite book and song and why?
Book
I’ll give you two books, choose the one you like best:
El almirante by Luis Mollá. I enjoy the novelized history, and this book tells the life and achievements of Admiral Blas de Lezo in a very entertaining way—a true example of courage, commitment, and leadership.
The Three Musketeers by A. Dumas. It has everything: epic, love, friendship, teamwork, adventure, intrigue, and action.
Song
Beyond the Sea, for its lyrics, which talk about the strength of true love and destiny, and for its melody—it always makes me want to dance when I hear it.
